Some quick and dirty advice about outsourcing content marketing, article writing, press releases, blog content and other SEO strategies grow your business.

Outsource well, or not at all is my advice.

Most business owners do not have the time to create a pro-active content strategy, but poor outsourcing (especially to countries where English is not the main language) could ruin the perception of your site with low quality content.

Outsourcing article writing, press releases and blog content is fairly common nowadays. It ultimately depends on having a good writer who can quickly get to grips with the industry and market-specific information that will help your customers, and a copywriter who has experience in search engine optimisation. One without the other will not do.

You want to get to know your SEO copywriter really well. After all, you are trusting them with the reputation of your business! So someone local is ideal because you can meet them face to face even if subsequent meetings happen to be by phone. It’s most important to start building trust straight away. First we try, then we trust. Your ideal scenario is to get to a point where your content writer is busily populating the Internet with content without too much guidance from you.

Initially you’ll have to give your writer a crash course in your industry. But they will also be able to study user behaviour in search engines and give you valuable information about your market that you may have never known or considered. This is particularly valuable for picking up on market opportunities from emerging search trends.

Lastly, writers are not all the same. Invest in a good one, who can write you content you would be proud to have authored yourself.

We have just launched a new app to help reduce waiting times in hospitals across Devon and Cornwall. The app, NHSquicker, allows people to view up-to-date waiting times for local emergency departments and minor injuries units. It also provides information regarding distance and time to different treatment centres, based on the user's location. Reactor15 have been working with Exeter Health and Care IMPACT Network, a collaboration between the NHS across Devon and Cornwall and academics from the University of Exeter to build an app which is widely available for smartphones and tablets, on Apple and Android. The NHSquicker app took six months to build and is a fully native app developed using our own custom framework. Using a native platform which allowed us to build a fast, responsive and reliable experience to users, when accuracy and speed of information is very important. The app also provides information about less urgent NHS services, including GPs, pharmacies, sexual health services, dentists and opticians. Mike Saunders, Managing Director of Reactor15 said: "It’s great, once again, to be involved in building a really useful NHS tool. We were asked to build an app which will not only help reduce waiting times in our local hospitals but will also help patients make the right choices with regards to how and where they receive their treatment.
